Professional Development
I just wanted to sincerely thank you for coming to speak with our kaimahi yesterday. It was enlightening and so many kaimahi came up to me after to say how much they loved your discussion, how they want to open this discussion with our various industry stakeholder groups, and how they personally gained so much from hearing about your experience and your vision for Xabilties.
One of our kaimahi wrote the below and I think it summarises up everyone’s thoughts beautifully:
The presentation from Tamara was incredible and it really opened my eyes wider than they ever have been in the Neurodiversity space. It certainly clarified “the why” in some of the challenges I faced in my previous role as a people Manager. Tamara is a truly amazing lady and I’m sure she can and will make an impact in Aotearoa through Xabilities.
Go you! So incredibly proud and grateful to have you guiding us.

Personal Growth
It has given me the chance to meet people and gain needed social skills that I never thought would happen and meet lovely people in the process and make new friends. It has given me the strength to be a better person and talk with
people who deal with the same thing as me. It has also given me the chance to grow as a person and work to the best of my ability.

Insight From Educator
Thank you so much Tamara. You were a stand out for me yesterday. Your passion and 'real lived experience voice' is such a powerful tool. So much of your story resonated with me about my own two children and also the students I support at high school as a Teacher Aide. Thank you thank you, I can't wait for our whole Kura to have the privilege of hearing your story also. Kia Kaha.

Thanks Tamara it's was great having someone with lived experiences. I would highly recommend this to other schools and groups to start the journey of awareness for our children.
