About the event
Wānanga Takiwātanga
Understanding Autism Through Lived Experience
Wānanga Takiwātanga is a two-hour community education event designed to deepen understanding of autism through lived experience.
Hosted by Xabilities, this wānanga is led by Tamara Grant, who shares her personal journey navigating life across the autism spectrum. Through honest storytelling and open conversation, Tamara offers insight that goes beyond clinical language, textbooks, and traditional training.
Too often autism is spoken about, rather than with those who live it.
This wānanga creates space for authentic understanding
