What is Unmasking?

Unmasking means letting go of the behaviors and masks people wear to fit in. For neurodivergent individuals, it involves stopping the tricks and strategies used to hide who they really are.

 

Why Unmasking Matters:

  1. Be Authentic: Unmasking allows you to be yourself. You don’t have to pretend or change to fit in.

  2. Know Yourself Better: It helps you understand your unique traits, strengths, and how your brain works.

  3. Feel Better: When you stop pretending, you can reduce stress and anxiety. It feels good to be true to yourself.

  4. Build Connections: When you unmask, you can find others who accept you for who you are, creating real friendships and support.

 

Effects of Masking and Unmasking:
